Unseen photos revive private moments

Photographer Steve Parke has compiled images from 1996–2001 in the book "Prince: Black, White, Color" (ACC Art Books). The collection includes candid shots of Prince, Garcia and their Yorkie Mia. Parke, who connected with Prince in the late 1980s, recalls the star's fascination with instant digital images and early Photoshop effects, which gave him close control over his image.

Glam Slam benefit promises celebration

On April 21, Live 4 Love Charities will host a Glam Slam at the W Hotel in Hollywood. The night will feature the Minneapolis All Funk Stars and many who played with Prince — Paul Peterson, Elisa Fiorello, Shelby J, Kirk — plus new artist DE'WAYNE. Los Angeles will mark its first-ever Prince Day and glow purple as students from the Live 4 Music program deliver a jazz take on his songs; the evening will include food, drinks and a raffle.
